Womens Cricket

Cricket ACT has introduced an new community cricket program.

The program targets women who may not have played cricket before or have never played competition cricket. Matches are played on synthetic cricket pitches and use a modified cricket ball (similar to what is used in indoor cricket) so only minimal equipment is required.

Matches will be played mid-week (Wednesdays). The games will be similar to indoor cricket as they will be 8 per side, 16 overs per team (2 overs per bowler), batting will be in pairs.

Matches will commence at 5.30pm and should finish around 7pm.

The Queanbeyan District Cricket Club, in conjunction with Cricket ACT, will be holding its first Annual Queanbeyan Womens Cricket Gala Day at Brad Haddin Oval, Queanbeyan. The event will be from 5.00pm till about 6.30pm.

The event is targeted towards women aged 14 and over, however younger players are more than welcome to come along as we will have representatives from the Queanbeyan Junior Club there as well.
